Still Life

      In this assignment I went around my house setting up little "studios" trying to advertise whatever was in the frame. My favorite photos are the ones with the checkers because the lighting is good and I Just like the way the picture looks.

BEFORE                                                                                                    AFTER

     Shutter: 1/100, Aperture: f4, ISO: 100

 In this assignment I learned that the topic Still Life/ Product is a hard topic because you are actually setting things up and is hard to create. Also, in this topic you have to adjust the lighting to make the photo look better. Overall, I had fun doing this topic because it is different then all the other topics I have done this year.

Tutorial Lightning

    I this assignment we had to pick a tutorial and the one I chose creating lightning. My background picture was a photo of a airplane taking off so I could have lightning striking it, but it was quite difficult to do this assignment.

In this assignment I learned how to create lightning. Creating lightning was a very difficult process and required a lot of work. This tutorial was very fun to do, but the directions were kind of hard to complete and they lack a few important steps

Dictionaries

      In this assignment we had to go into photoshop and pick a word and put pictures on that canvas that would describe the word. We had to three and mine were spooky, chilly, and Imagination. I really liked the frozen one because of the color and how it was organized.

      In this assignment I learned how to put pictures in photoshop that describe a certain word. I didn't like this assignment as much as the PUNS because it wasn't as fun and you could be as creative, but it was still pretty fun

Puns

In this assignment we had to create a play on words using images we downloaded from the Internet. Some of puns were time flies, money doesn't grow on trees, and who cut the trees. I think that my PUN, who cut the cheese was the best was my favorite one because it was the most unique and colorful.

     In this assignment I learned how to put images together to create a play on words. I thought that this assignment was really fun because we could be creative and you got to choose what your topic was. Overall, I had a really great time

Lights and Shadows

    For this assignment I decided to take pictures of the subject Light and Shadows. I wondered around my house and outside trying to capture pictures of that show this. I decided that the best photos were the one the had the greatest contrast between light and dark. Here is my favorite photo:

Original                           Photoshop

Shutter: 1/80 Aper: f4  ISO: 100

     In this assignment I choose the topic Lights and Shadows because i was interested in it and I had found inspiration on Flickr. During this assignment I learned that you what to find a good contrast between light and dark and it is good to adjust your ISO because in the dark sometimes your photo will have digital noise.

photos.food

    For this assignment I decided to take pictures of food. I went to my kitchen and took out some food and started taking pictures. I choose this topic because my dad was making food so i took pictures of it. My best pictures were the ones of the omelets and the cereal.

shutter: 1/80, aperture: f4, ISO: 100

      In this assignment I learned how to take pictures of food that can show texture and make things look delicious. I had fun during this assignment because I like to be in the kitchen and eat food, but it was to find food that made good pictures.

Portrait Demo

     In this assignment we had to take photos of other people. We had to go around the school until we found a window, that we bounce the light off onto another person. The second photo we took was up at the studio a take a portrait photo with different types of lights.

      In this assignment I learned how to take photos of people using two different ways.Another thing I learned that when you are taking the photo with using the window you wan to make sure there is enough light coming from the window. The last thing I learned is that you want to make sure you are close enough to the subject so you fill the whole frame

photos.black and white

      In this assignment I chose to take pictures of the topic black and white. I chose this topic because it was something easy to do and I didnt have muuch time to do it. In my favorite photo I took a picture the contrasted the dark and the light.

shutter:1/80, ISO:100, Aperture:f4

     In this assignment I learned that you should try to take a photo that shows the contrast between black and white and not just a gray blob. It is difficult to do these so make sure your photo has a contrast between colors before you turn it in.

Photo That I Created

     In this assignment I had to go around the school and take one good picture. I had to upload this photo into Photoshop and go on the Internet and find photos that I could put into my photo. In Photoshop we had to use many different tools to try to create this one great photo. I took a picture of the football field and then tried to create a bicycle that would actually happen in professional soccer.

     In this assignment I learned that it is really hard to try to create this photo. It had to put a lot of time and effort in to try to create this one image. The hardest part was to try to put the images from the Internet into the main picture, but overall it was really fun.

Dykman Panos

     In this assignment we had to take multiple pictures and the conjoin them into one big photo. I decided to take pictures of stuff that you would need a really wide view to see all of the photo. The last thing we had to do is put this images on photoshop so we could combine these photos together, using a tool called photomerge.

     In this assignment I learned that it is more challenging to put together these photos than I thought. There are many rules you have to follow such as making sure that your camera is set into the manual setting and that when you are taking your pictures, that you dont overlap the pictures too much or too little.

photo.macro

     In this assignment I chose the topic macro. I went outside and tried to capture pictures of things when I am up close. I took pictures of all sorts of things like tires, light-bulbs, and leafs. The pictures of flowers turned out the best. I spent the most time trying to capture pictures of flowers and leafs trying to reveal parts of these things.

Shutter: 1/80, ISO: 100, Aperture: 4

In this assignment I learned that to take pictures of the category of macro it is good to set your camera on the macro setting so you get higher quality pictures. I also learned that when you are taking pictures of macro, you want to make sure that others viewing your photo can tell what your photo is supposed to be of.

photo.nature.

     In this assignment I decided to take pictures of nature-landscape. I went around my yard trying to capture photos of leaves, flowers, and tress. Some of these pictures turned out better if the sun was shining. After i was done taking my pictures I decided that the picture of the leave was the best of the photos.
    shutter: 1/80, aperture: 4, ISO: 100

     In this assignment I learned that if you take your photos when the sun is out, they will turn out better. I also learned that during these photo assignments it is best to take a lot of photos so you can narrow them down and pick the best ones out.

     For this assignment I had to take pictures of motion. I choose to take pictures of motion because in sports motion is easy to capture. My best picture is a picture of a ball bouncing. I like this picture because the ball shows motion-blur behind it.

      Shutter: 1/80 Aperture: f4 ISO: 100

     In this assignment I learned how to get better at panning with a camera and how to capture good pictures of motion. When you are trying to capture motion you can try to take a photo that looks like it is frozen in the air or try to take a photo that shows motion-blur.

Car Touch-Up

     In this assignment I learned how to edit with Photoshop. I also learned how to use the Clone Stamp tool to copy something and put it somewhere else. We also had to use the levels option to brighten or darken the image. The last thing I learned in last you can use the the paint brush to color in spots in the photo.

Motion Demo

     In this demo, I learned how to pan with a camera. Panning helps you capture motion-blur in the background. I also learned that panning is difficult to do and is more complex than you would think. You have to change the shutter-speed in order to get that blurred effect in background. One last I learned was, when you are panning you might have to change the aperture settings because when you decrease your shutter-speed your is going to turn out brighter.

First Photo Assignment

     For my first photo assignment I am choosing motion. I play of sports and ride in the car a lot, so it will easy to capture pictures of motion. I am going to try a capture a picture of my brother swinging a baseball bat or take a picture while riding in my mom's car.

Here a some examples of pictures showing motion:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/themonnie/2495892146/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jorritkrijnen/3404726767/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mthomasphotography/5120452388/

     These photos inspire because these photos show motion-blur and in some of my photos I am going to try to use motion-blur. To show motion-blur I am going to ride in my moms car and take a picture out of the window.

 I used Photo Booth to take a self Portrait of myself. Then I had to use Photoshop to manipulate the photo. In Photoshop I had to copy my picture three times and fit four pictures of myself on one canvas. After I fit the pictures on the canvas I had to change the color of each one. The last thing I did was upload this assignment on to blogger.

 In this assignment I learned how to use Photoshop and how to edit pictures. I also learned how to change the color of pictures and how to fit four pictures on one canvas. The last thing I learned is that you can change features about your photos to give them a different look or effect.

Composition Assignment

The Composition Assignment was about to take photos of different types of composition. We had to research and look at examples of the types of composition. We also went around school and take examples of these types of photos. We had to create a Photoshop and blogger account to put our pictures in.

Depth of Field= Shoe
Symmetry= Railing

Pattern= Grass
Texture= Bark
Framing= Tree in hole
Perspective= Stairs
Balance= White wall
Lines= Blinds
Space= Pencil in air
Rule of Thirds= Bush
Color= Apple

I learned that taking photos isn't just taking a snap shop, it requires thought and planning. I also learned that there are types of composition that make photos look different from each other. It also takes time and effort to take these types of photos.
